Dr. Brian James
Dr. Brian James has a deep dedication to the teaching and preaching of God’s Word. His philosophy of ministry centers on a sincere personal love for Jesus Christ. He holds to the conviction that all ministry should come out of the overflow of a growing personal walk with Jesus Christ. He holds to the conviction of a growing personal walk with Jesus Christ. Brian and his wife, Paula, were both born in Habersham County, Georgia. They have four daughters: Morgan, Aubrey, Annabelle and Aedyn.
Brian has dedicated his life to growing in both faith and knowledge. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.A.) from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Brenau University. Following God’s call, he obtained a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry/DMin in Expository Preaching from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brian has made a commitment to impact this community for Christ. He believes that ministry must extend beyond the walls of the church. “I believe that God’s people are called to minister and do evangelism in all areas of the community from children to students to adults to senior adults.” Brian also instils in his congregation the desire to take the gospel, not only to our community, but to the ends of the earth.
Brian and his family encourage you to join us at Level Grove Baptist Church as we seek to build disciples of Christ.
Tony Yang is the Lead Worship Pastor at Level Grove Baptist Church. He grew up as a Pastor’s Kid with 8 brothers and 4 sisters. Through the love of Jesus, his life was turned around at the age of 16 and he made the decision to follow Christ. Shortly after, God called him into ministry, instilling in him a passion for a lost generation. He graduated from Toccoa Falls Bible College with a Bachelor of Science in Youth Ministry in 2002. He has served in ministry for over 18 Years as a Youth Minister, Student Pastor, Music Minister and Addictions Counselor.
Tony believes that excellence in musical performance is a worthy goal, but that is NOT the purpose of the music ministry. The purpose of the music ministry is like the purpose of all other ministries, and that is for the equipping of the saints for works of service. Everyone involved with the music program use their gifts to serve. From the choir members, band, setup, to sound and lights, their purpose of being there is because God has called them to serve. The music team practices and rehearse because they believe in pursuing and being equipped for excellence while they serve. “We want our fellow church members to be able to worship without being hindered by a lack of preparedness, practice, or effort. The music program at Level Grove Baptist Church is more than just notes on a page, but the equipping of God’s people to do God’s service in excellence.”
He has been serving at Level Grove Baptist Church since January 2015. Tony is married to Susan and they have three beautiful daughters, Kennedy, Bailey and Brooklyn.
Life at all ages is precious and beautiful, and Sheila feels blessed to have the opportunity to work with people in many different stages of their lives. As a college student she worked with the elderly; as a teacher she spent nineteen years working with middle and high school students. The Lord soon led her to Level Grove where she taught kindergarten and first grade for six years. For just over two years, Sheila taught fourth and fifth grades. Again, the Lord opened doors and she is back at Level Grove and is delighted to be working with preschoolers and their families.
Sheila is a native of Habersham County. She earned an associate degree from Truett-McConnell College and a bachelor's degree from Toccoa Falls College. She has a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and a desire to help preschoolers connect with Jesus at an early age so they may spend their lives growing in grace and sharing their faith with others.
